Fanta C Giant Schnauzers
Bob and I began our devotion to the Giant Schnauzer in the late 1980’s. Our first Giant Schnauzer,
Majescos, instilled in us great respect for the intelligence and stamina of the breed. Her loyalty and
devotion to our family never faltered throughout her 15 years. We came to understand and admire the
“heart” of the breed through her example.
Producing our next champion is our objective with every breeding, but our obligation to the breed is to
produce correct temperament. We strive to meet this requirement with every carefully planned
breeding.
Taken from the AKC Official Standard of the Giant Schnauzer:
“Temperament which combines spirit and alertness with intelligence and reliability. Composed, watchful,
courageous, easily trained, deeply loyal to family, playful, amiable in repose, and a commanding figure
when aroused. The sound, reliable temperament, rugged build, and dense weather-resistant wiry coat
make for one of the most useful, powerful, and enduring working breeds.”
We begin their learning experience the day they are born. We handle puppies every day, offering goats
milk in a bottle to enhance the human connection and to assist Mom. During the weaning process we
introduce the puppies to strangers on a daily basis. I am fortunate to involve the clients of my grooming
salon in their socializing process (many would like the job fulltime, lol). We implement changes to their
routine and to their exposure to new surroundings several times prior to being ready to move forward to
their waiting families. Usually this results in a puppy that will embrace their new surroundings and new
family with eagerness and confidence.
We encourage anyone considering a Giant Schnauzer for show, working, or as an active family member,
to schedule a visit or call for a conversation.
